The Honda Accord and Honda City received four distinguished safety-related awards at the ASEAN NCAP (ASEAN New Car Assessment Program) Grand Prix Awards 2020. This achievement emphasizes Honda’s strong commitment to safety and its vision to realize a collision-free mobile society.

Honda Accord

The 10th generation Honda Accord, which has been awarded a 5-Star ASEAN NCAP safety rating, received 3 awards from the  “Best Safety Performance” category in “Adult Occupant Protection", “Child Occupant Protection" and, “Overall” (the highest score of the overall assessment).

The model made its ASEAN debut in Thailand in March 2019 and has since expanded sales to six other countries. It has also received several prestigious awards in ASEAN countries such as:

  • Thailand: “Best Mid-Size Sedan under 2,000 c.c.”, Car of the Year 2019
  • Malaysia: “Executive Sedan of The Year”, Carlist.my - People's Choice Awards 2019
  • Philippines: “Best in Safety Features-Midsize Sedan”, Auto Focus People's and Media's Choice Awards 2020

Locally, the 10th generation Honda Accord made its debut in the Philippine market in September 2019. On top of all the safety features it presents, the current Honda Accord now comes with Honda SENSING to prevent and effectively respond to dangerous driving situations.

Honda City

The 5th generation Honda City, the latest Honda model to achieve the 5-star safety rating, won the “ASEAN NCAP Excellent Award - Consistent 5 Star” for its excellence and continuous 5-star safety rating of its 3rd, 4th, and 5th generation.

Following the world premiere of the all-new Honda City in Thailand in November 2019, it was also introduced in Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam respectively. The model sold over 45,000 units within 1 year after the launch, representing the best-selling Honda model in ASEAN.

The all-new City was introduced on October 22, 2020, through HCPI’s first-ever digital launch in the country during Honda’s 30th anniversary here in the Philippines. For the first time in the Philippine market, the all-new Honda City is available in a 1.5 RS CVT variant, which provides a sportier and more premium look.
