MG Motor Philippines has officially launched the Multiply Greatness Tour 2026 at the Trinoma Activity Center on August 27, 2026. The nationwide roadshow brings the brand’s expanding electrified lineup closer to Filipino motorists, giving customers more chances to see, experience, and drive the latest models firsthand.
The tour is the newest expression of MG’s Multiply Greatness campaign—a celebration of how great design, technology, performance, and experiences can come together to create something even greater. At the center of this next chapter—and making its formal Philippine debut—is the MG S5 EV, an all-electric compact SUV designed to make every drive more engaging, convenient, and connected. Combining sporty rear-wheel-drive performance with practical SUV versatility, intelligent technology, and efficient electric power, the new MG S5 EV brings the promise of “Your Daily Drives, Fully-Charged” to life.
The S5 EV produces 125 kW, or 170 PS, of peak power and 250 Nm of torque from its Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor. Unlike many compact electric SUVs, it sends power to the rear wheels. That gives the S5 EV a more engaging driving character without sacrificing the practicality required for daily commutes, errands, family trips, and weekend getaways. Drivers can choose from Normal, Sport, Comfort, Snow, and Custom drive modes, allowing the SUV to adapt to different driving conditions and personal preferences.
A 49 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery supplies the vehicle’s energy and supports up to 120 kW of DC fast charging. Under suitable conditions, it can charge from 10% to 90% in approximately 24 minutes. AC charging is supported at up to 7 kW. The S5 EV also offers a 415-kilometer NEDC range, giving drivers the flexibility to manage everyday travel as well as longer journeys with confidence.
Electric ownership is made more convenient with features such as scheduled charging, battery thermal optimization, and regenerative braking with Low, Medium, Strong, and Adaptive settings. One-Pedal Drive is also included, as well as Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability which allows the S5 EV to supply power to compatible external devices when needed, adding another layer of versatility.
The S5 EV isn’t defined solely by what sits beneath its floor. Measuring 4,476 mm long, 1,849 mm wide, and 1,621 mm high, with a 2,730 mm wheelbase, it has the compact SUV proportions needed for both city driving and weekend escapes. Inside, cargo capacity stands at 453 liters. Fold the rear seats and include the underfloor storage, and that figure expands to 1,441 liters—enough flexibility for everyday essentials, shopping, and luggage for longer trips.
Its modern exterior reinforces its electric character with a range of sporty details. These include 17-inch alloy wheels with aero fins, projector LED headlights, Racing Flag-design LED daytime running lights and taillights, gloss black door mirrors, and a rear spoiler. Load-bearing roof rails, capable of supporting up to 75 kilograms, add further practicality for active lifestyles.
Inside the cabin, technology remains within easy reach. A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster is paired with a 12.8-inch touchscreen display, while wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto provide seamless smartphone connectivity. Automatic climate control, Smart Entry, an electronic parking brake with Auto Brake Hold, multiple USB ports, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, and a PM2.5 cabin filter add convenience for both driver and passengers.
